A LITTLE ABOUT ME.

Hi, I'm Lauren.

I'm a wife, mother to two little boys, and the photographer behind Lauren Kay's Photography.

I built this business because motherhood made me painfully aware of just how quickly the people we love become someone new.

I UNDERSTAND THE ACHE TO REMEMBER THEM.

I know the feeling of studying your baby's face and trying to memorize every detail. The round cheeks. The swirl of hair. The tiny fingers wrapped around yours. The way their whole body still fits against your chest.

And I know how strange it is to realize that, somehow, those details have already begun to change.

That's what sits at the heart of my work.

I want to give mothers something tangible from these years. Not photographs that are looked at once and forgotten somewhere on a phone, but beautiful, honest portraits of the people you love, preserved in albums, frames, and heirloom materials that become more valuable to your family with time.

Because one day, these won't simply be photographs of your babies.

They'll be part of your family's history.

THE THINGS I LOVE ABOUT OUR LIFE

MY BOYS

I'm a mama to two little boys, and they are the reason I understand just how sentimental a mother can become about the smallest things.

Motherhood has made me notice details I never would have thought twice about before. Chubby hands. Sleepy eyelashes. The way a little body curls into mine when it needs comfort.

They're also responsible for most of the crumbs in my house, the toys under my feet, and the coffee I reheat more times than I'd like to admit. I wouldn't trade this season for anything.

MY HOME

I'm happiest during slow days at home.

I love homemaking, baking something new, working in my garden, learning how to make more things from scratch, and dreaming about the homestead I hope our family will have someday.

There's something about making a home beautiful, useful, and deeply lived-in that I love.

Maybe that's part of why I'm so drawn to photographs that do the same. I want the artwork we create together to feel like it belongs in your home for decades, not just for this season.

MY OTHER HALF

I've been lucky enough to build this life alongside my husband, and so much of what I understand about family comes from the ordinary life we're building together.

We met right before I started college at Texas A&M. He was the cute and shiny freshman while I was still a senior in high school. He's a huge part of my testimony as he actually introduced me to Jesus as a person when I was in a really dark season of life. He's my perfect partner and I'm so thankful for him!

FAITH

My faith in Jesus is the foundation beneath my life, my motherhood, and this business. It's honestly why I do what I do! Without him, it's all in vain.

I come back often to 1 Corinthians 10:31: whatever I do, I want to do it for the glory of God.

That shapes the way I hope to serve the families who trust me with their stories. I often pray for my clients on the way to their sessions, and my hope is that you'll feel genuinely cared for from the first email to the day your photographs are finally in your hands.

BEFORE I WAS A PHOTOGRAPHER...

I was an engineer.

I graduated from Texas A&M with a degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering and spent two years working as a Quality Engineer for Toyota before leaving engineering to build Lauren Kay's Photography.

They're two careers that probably couldn't sound more different.

But I've realized that I brought more of my engineering brain with me than I expected.

I notice details. I plan ahead. I care deeply about the experience behind the finished product. And I believe beautiful things can also be thoughtfully made.

The mother in me notices the way your baby's fingers curl around yours.

The engineer in me makes sure those photographs actually make it onto the pages of an album.

I think there's room for both.

I'm proud of beautiful photographs.

But I'm even more proud when those photographs become something a family actually lives with.

An album pulled from the shelf by little hands.

A framed portrait that has hung in the same hallway through several versions of childhood.

Photographs a mother looks through years later and realizes she can still remember exactly how it felt to hold that baby.

I'll help you plan what to wear, choose a location that feels right for your family, gently guide you through your session, and then turn the photographs we make into heirloom artwork designed to last.

You don't have to figure all of that out on your own.

You just have to bring me the people you love.
